fruit bowl of the country.  Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, Bilaspur,
Una, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, Kullu, Solan and Shimla
are the 12 districts into which Himachal Pradesh is divided.


The cultural identity of the state is reflected by their local music and
dance as they pray and entreat their gods during local festivals and other
special occasions. Shimla, Himachal's capital which is famous as the summer
capital of the British Raj remains a popular destination for visitors. The
handicrafts made in Himachal Pradesh are worth appreciating. These include
the carpets, leather works, shawls, metal ware, woodwork and paintings.


Manali, other hill station is in the heart of the picturesque Kullu valley.
As it is watered by the Beas River, it is an excellent base for Treks and
excursions. West of Kullu is the Kanga Valley which is covered with apple
orchards. The hillsides and orchards bloom with wild flowers, while
gladiolas, carnations, marigolds, roses, chrysanthemums and tulips after
the winter season.

 In order to make Himachal Pradesh as the flower basket of the world, the
state government in Himachal is preparing up for the same. In the eastern
part of the state is Kinnaur whose land is covered with grass and charming
villages.

 Moreover, adventure and sports lovers have reasons to be joyful as various
sports such as river rafting, trekking, skiing, ice skating, para gliding,
etc. can be enjoyed to the fullest. Thus, Himachal tourism has reached a
